Stakeholder groups work on ways of reducing pharmaceuticals and personal care products in drinking water
SPRINGFIELD—As part of its overall efforts to ensure that citizen’s of Illinois continue to have high quality and safe sources of drinking water, Illinois Environmental Protection Agency Director Doug Scott Wednesday convened a Summit at the University of Illinois at Springfield to discuss ways to reduce the amounts of pharmaceuticals and personal care products being discharged into waters of the state that ultimately become a source of drinking water.

CHICAGO – Governor Rod R. Blagojevich praised women business owners and celebrated their role in Illinois’ diverse economy today at Navy Pier for the 22nd annual Women’s Business Development Center’s Entrepreneurial Conference, the oldest conference for businesswomen in the country. Throughout the Governor’s administration, he has assisted women in business by signing the Equal Pay Act in 2003, offering support through the Illinois Entrepreneurship Center Network, and investing in new opportunities for women-owned businesses.

State’s $18 million dollar investment package and vast resources help secure merged headquarter
CHICAGO – Governor Rod R. Blagojevich announced today that Illinois succeeded in bringing the new headquarters for MillerCoors to Illinois with a $18 million investment package for the company. The state’s investment supports a $39.5 million investment by MillerCoors, and comes as a part of Opportunity Returns, the Governor’s comprehensive economic development strategy to create jobs and build the Illinois economy.
