   Monetary Assistance   

CircuitBreaker The Illinois Department on Aging administers the Circuit Breaker program that provides grants to senior citizens and persons with disabilities, administers the Pharmaceutical Assistance Program that provides prescription medicines for seniors and disabled adults and enrolls individuals in the new SeniorCare program that provides expanded prescription coverage to eligible seniors.

Illinois Association of County Veterans Assistance Commissions The Veterans Assistance Commissions are separate agencies under the County umbrella of benefits and funding that are operated by and for veterans. The Commission is designed to provide needed services including financial aid, veteran services and advocacy services to military veterans and their families that reside in said county.

Illinois Home Weatherization Assistance Program The Illinois Home Weatherization Assistance Program is designed to help low income residents save fuel and money, while increasing the comfort of their homes.

Illinois Military Family Relief Fund The Illinois Military Family Relief Fund (IMFRF), signed into law in 2003 by Governor Rod R. Blagojevich, provides monetary grants to families of Illinois National Guard members and Illinois residents serving in the U.S. Armed Forces Reserve components who were called to active duty as a result of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. Grants are intended to help families defray the costs of food, housing, utilities, medical services, and other expenses that become difficult to afford when a wage-earner has temporarily left civilian employment to be placed on active military duty.

Illinois Rx Buying Club A program that offers all prescription drugs approved by the FDA that are available through participating pharmacies and the program's mail-order option at costs up to 30% of their normal costs.

Low Income Energy Assistance Program The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) is designed to help eligible low-income households pay for winter energy services.

Operation Protect and Provide Operation Protect and Provide is a short-term loan program designed to help ease the financial sacrifice of reservists who are called to active duty. Through this initiative, reservists who are called into active service can receive a low-interest loan up to $10,000.

SeniorCare Illinois A rebate program available for seniors that currently have pharmaceutical coverage.

VA Home Loans The main purpose of the VA home loan program is to help veterans finance the purchase of homes with favorable loan terms and at a rate of interest which is competitive with the rate charged on other type of mortgage loans. For VA housing loan purposes, the term "veteran" includes certain members of the Selected Reserve, active duty service personnel and certain categories of spouses.
